Sugar Land is one of the most established suburbs in the Houston area, located in Fort Bend County southwest of the city along I-69 (US 59). It is known for mature neighborhoods, a busy Town Square, and a wide range of homes, from 1970s and 1980s neighborhoods to newer luxury communities like Riverstone.
A Sugar Land mailing address does not always mean a home is inside the city limits, which can affect taxes and city services. The homes on this page are those with a Sugar Land address; ask us to confirm the jurisdiction for any home you are considering.

Sugar Land's story is tied to sugar. After local plantations were consolidated into the Imperial Sugar Company in 1908, Sugar Land grew as a company town, with Imperial providing housing, schools and businesses for its workers. The town incorporated as a city in 1959, and the refinery operated into the early 2000s. Many of the original company homes still stand in The Hill and Mayfield Park areas, and the Imperial crown appears on the city's seal.
Most of Sugar Land is served by Fort Bend ISD, while some neighborhoods on the western side of the area are zoned to Lamar Consolidated ISD. Confirm a home's school assignment with the district's boundary tool before you buy.
I-69 (US 59) runs through Sugar Land toward Houston, with the Fort Bend Parkway toll road and the Grand Parkway (State Highway 99) also nearby. Commute times vary widely by neighborhood and time of day, so test your drive during rush hour before choosing a home.
